I was sent the following link by the Chairman of the local branch of Amnesty International.
http://www.everyhumanhasrights.org/
With it he sent the following text;
'The Elders a group of prominent former leaders (inc. Nelson Mandela & Aung San Suu Kyi) are aiming to get one billion individuals to sign the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It's the 60th Anniversary of the UDHR this year. Amnesty will be taking part in this campaign. It would be great if you could sign it and encourage people you know to'.
I'm hoping to get to my first AI Meeting next week; I'm looking forward to it. It was one of those things I talked about doing, when I was at school, but never actually got around to. Better late than never. And in my defence I think it will probably mean far more to me now than it did back then; it's amazing what a difference 25 years and a couple of children can make to your outlook on life!
I'm not expecting to change the world, I'm not sure if I can do any good at all, but what I do know is that I will never find out if I sit here and do nothing for the next 25 years.
In the meantime I hope you have the time to read the declaration and add your name to it - Thank you.
